As an intern in shelter medicine, Dr. Swiniarski’s main goal is to work towards a career as a shelter veterinarian in a large metropolitan area. Her main interests include veterinary forensics, animal cruelty investigations, and education and outreach.  During her veterinary education at Iowa State University, Dr. Swiniarski was very involved in volunteer work, including with the local shelters – both for animals and for domestic violence victims. She remained active in the Shelter Club, including planning a collaborative effort with the community known as Neuter a Tomcat Days in 2011, and Feral Cat Alliance, a trap-neuter-release program through the University.
