This summer Maddie’s® Shelter Medicine Program will bring you a new course on managing your mental health while working with animals: Compassion Fatigue Strategies.
Certified Compassion Fatigue Educator Jessica Dolce will teach this exciting new course, which is open to everyone and will be delivered online in a self-paced format. Compassion Fatigue Strategies opens on June 15, 2015 and assignments are due on August 15, but the course will remain open and materials will be accessible until October 15.
This course is divided into 4 modules:
- Module 1: Introduction & Understanding of Compassion Fatigue
- Module 2: Managing Stress and Committing to Self-Care
- Module 3: Building Compassion Satisfaction and Resiliency
- Module 4: Taking Action and Committing to Change
By the end of class you’ll have six strategies to help you manage and transform your experience with compassion fatigue, your personal mission statement and goals to help you make lasting changes, a better understanding of yourself and how to engage in self-care that works for you, and the tools you need to be well, while you continue to do good work!
