About Alyssa Comroe

Dr. Alyssa Comroe has recently returned to sunny Florida to work as a shelter veterinarian at Hillsborough County Pet Resource Center, a large, open admission municipal animal shelter in southwestern Florida. Dr. Comroe previously worked at Kansas State University and has maintained a position at K-State as adjunct faculty member to continue teaching shelter medicine. Her clinical interests include infectious diseases commonly found in animal shelters, forensics, behavior of animals in shelters, HQHVSN techniques, and One Health. She has been involved in shelter medicine since 2010 and prior to that, began a trap-neuter-return program on the University of Miami’s campus while she was in college.
