About Catherine McManus

Dr. Catherine (Cate) McManus is the Irving Animal Services veterinarian in Irving, Texas. Dr. McManus has been a veterinarian for over 15 years. Over nine of those 15 years have been spent in animal sheltering to include a three-year residency in Shelter Medicine at the University of Florida. When Dr. McManus was with the City of Dallas, she helped coordinate the care of “Bentley,” the pet dog that was possibly exposed to the Ebola Virus. Dr. McManus is Lieutenant Colonel in the US Army Vet Corp (IRR). Dr. McManus’ current interest include emergency medicine in the animal shelter environment as well as humane animal handling. She is a Certified Animal Welfare Administrator and a Fear Free Certified Practitioner.
