About Chrissy Sedgley
Chrissy Sedgley is the Shelter Medicine Educational Programs Manager and serves as advisor for the Professional Certificate in Shelter Medicine. After working in graphic design for many years, her passion for animal welfare led her to pursue a new career serving as a voice for the underrepresented, and she earned her Master’s Degree in Shelter Medicine in the process. Prior to joining the Shelter Medicine Program at UF, Chrissy served as the Director of Shelter Operations for Alachua County Humane Society in Gainesville, Florida, where she implemented progressive programs such as open-adoptions, shelter diversion strategies, dog playgroups, and FIV/FeLV adoption programs. Chrissy also deploys as an animal rescue volunteer for the Humane Society of the United States in support of large-scale animal transports, disaster response, and cruelty investigations.
